popular tradition of Holy Easter

Summary[edit]

Description
English: It is a bloody, fascinating, ancestral rite. Tradition that is lost in the past centuries up to the Middle Ages to leave a thousand questions about an obscure origin that goes well with the profound meaning of the rite itself. the Vattienti rite would refer to the practice of self-flagellation widespread among monks in the Middle Ages to atone for sins and thus allow the soul to be welcomed worthily in the afterlife.
